I am making the most of my final recuperation spending time with my sister, re-charging the batteries ready for the summer ahead. However, wherever I am, you will all be very much in my thoughts. Once again we have had a very successful winter of training, fun and competitions. Our members have represented the branch in all parts of the country and we have had a huge amount of success. Well done to you all. The success is also evident in non-pony club competitions and again it is nice to see you all doing so well. This is where our training programme comes into its own and our riders always stand out. As ever we will be sending teams in all disciplines to the Area competitions. The show jumping and dressage teams will be selected at the selection evenings. The event teams will be selected on performance and merit, so please keep our webmaster updated with your results, if you would like to represent the branch at all 3 levels. Team training will be organised once the teams are selected. Weve had a fantastic winter of training and good luck to all when out and about representing the branch. Dont forget, in order to represent our branch you need to have completed 3 working rallies, in the current year. At the end of the day, you are representing OUR branch and I need to know who and what we are sending! One note please- keep the make up to a minimum! We are always complimented on the standard of dress of our members, especially for prize givings. I hope you will enjoy the programme we have planned for you this spring and summer. It is certainly a hectic schedule. We have tried to arrange something for everyone but we are always open to suggestions. We also use a number of different venues that offer facilities for all. Please do remember to treat the venues with respect and keep all dogs and children under control. Also take your litter home! Good luck to all, whatever you may be doing this year. I will be back raring to go in April and look forward to catching up with all the news. All the best Psyche Kennerley District Commissioner of Cheshire Hunt North Parents your branch needs you! Throughout the year, our branch runs many different types of competitions and events, at branch level, area level and national level. We are a highly successful branch and, as a result, many of our training rallies are subsidised by the branch. However, in order to continue to be successful we need more help! This year we have had to ask all our parents to commit themselves to help us at our events. Whether you have only an hour, half a day or maybe a whole day, your help will be gratefully received. Make sure you complete your working party rota form and pass back to Polly Hancox as soon as possible. Whatever skill you have got we can make use of it! Help needed at our one day event at Smallwood on Saturday May 3rd 2008 and The National Novice Championships, also at Smallwood, on Bank Holiday weekend in August. Winter reports Once again the working rallies and training rallies have been hugely successful, with nearly all the rallies being full on the day. We are so fortunate to have so many top instructors teaching for us and they always comment on the excellent standard of turnout of both horse and rider, plus the abilities of all. They also say how you all try hard to overcome any problems that may arise. Over the winter, it is very rewarding for us all to see the not so confidant partnerships develop. It is brilliant that so many members, old and new, take advantage of the expertise of the instructors and its a super way of getting to know everybody. The working rallies are truly the backbone of the pony club and this is so evident in our branch. The rides are organised on age and tests taken and we are in the most fortunate position to be able to keep both the numbers in each ride, plus the cost, down. The venue does also help and once again we have had the luxury of using Huntersgate and Norley for our winter rallies. These are great venues, for the organisers and the riders. However, we all work hard at making sure the venue is left cleaner than we sometimes find it, so a big thank you for the many hours you have spent poo picking the arena and car park! Remember that if you wish to be considered for team selection to represent our thriving branch, you must be an ACTIVE branch member and have done at least 3 working rallies. Spring and Summer programme As ever, we have tried to cater for all ages and abilities and also chosen many different venues for variety and also accessibility to all. We are fortunate to be able to subsidise the training events and rallies. We do not make a profit, therefore, if you have entered a rally and have to withdraw, unless we have a waiting list and can fill your place, then unfortunately your entry fee cannot be refunded. Instructors and venues still have to be paid! Once again, we have organised event training, designed for members wishing to represent the branch at a specific level, be it novice, (2 foot 11 ), intermediate, (33) or open (36). If you are unsure of your eligibility or suitability, please ring Joan to discuss or email the webmaster. You can also check your eligibility for the area competitions in any discipline by looking on the main pony club website, HYPERLINK "http://WWW.pcuk.org" WWW.pcuk.org. As all these training events are subsidised by the branch, if oversubscribed, the places will be allocated to active members who have completed their working rallies. Do get your entries in early! When entering rallies and training, please would all members complete a branch entry form and send to the rally organiser with the appropriate fee. You can send post-dated cheques, please date your cheques at least 1 week before the rally date. This enables us to book and confirm the instructors well in advance, ensuring that nobody is disappointed. If you have to cancel any rallies you have entered, please inform THE PERSON WHO YOU SENT THE ENTRIES TO, AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. If there is a waiting list you may be entitled to a refund. *-* Activities with a Difference! *-* Parents evening at Byley Village Hall on Wednesday 30th April, 6.30 8.30pm (Including a second hand tack sale) Come and meet the committee and other members. This will be our 2nd year at Kelsall and last year was FABULOUS!! The venue has a cross country course, farm ride, acres of land to ride over and much, much more. Unfortunately we are limited to numbers and places are allocated on a first come, first served basis. So if you wish for a place, then get your completed form off to Audrey as soon as possible! We will most probably be staying under canvas, (in tents!) and the accomodation will be organised by us. Some of the stables are only pony stables, so this may determine allocation of final places. All will be stabled this year on straw. For those fortunate enough to gain a place, there will be a parents camp meeting on Wednesday 25th June, 6-8pm If you would like a place at camp, please complete the enclosed form and send with your deposit of 55 to Audrey Forster, Moss Cottage Farm, Winterley, Sandbach, Cheshire CW11 4RU The final balance of 110 can be paid in instalments to Audrey, last payment to be paid in full by 25.6.08.
